Home Preservation

Our Home Preservation program helps homeowners stay in their affordable homes. We offer tools to lower home insurance premiums, as well as roof replacements and repairs. We offer homeowner education on topics including home maintenance, disaster preparedness, estate planning, and foreclosure prevention.

We have the following programs and resources:

Habitat Inspects 

Learn how to reduce your home insurance costs, uncover home maintenance issues, and get through critical home preservation obstacles. Qualified applicants will receive a free voucher for a wind mitigation inspection ($150 value) and/or 4-point inspection ($100 value).

Roof Replacement & Home Repair Program 

In partnership with Orange County and the City of St. Cloud, we are replacing roofs that no longer adequately protect the home for residents. In partnership with the City of Kissimmee, we are offering critical home repairs to homeowners in the city.

Do I have to reside in Orange or Osceola County to participate in the Preservation program?

Yes, you must reside in Orange or Osceola County to be eligible.

Do I have to be a homeowner to participate in the Preservation program?

Yes, you must be a current homeowner.

Does my property have to be my primary residence?

Yes, the property must be your primary residence to be eligible. Secondary/Investment properties are ineligible.

Do I have to have a homestead exemption on my property?

Yes, you must have a current homestead exemption on your property.

Do I have to be current on my mortgage to participate in the program?

Yes, if you have a mortgage on your property, you must be current on the mortgage payment.

Can I apply for the program if I have a mobile home?

No, mobile homes are not eligible for participation.
